We have a strong connection to community, through our connection with Mount Barker Community Centre. Our resources are sourced from local shops, supermarkets and donations. We engage in local community events, markets and other various fundraising activities.
Our Philosophy

At Family House we believe in nurturing children through natural, child-led, play-based learning that encourages exploration and fosters innate curiosity. We believe that diversity enriches the learning environment, and we celebrate differences which create an atmosphere of inclusion, respect and belonging for all.

Positive relationships are central to our philosophy. We prioritize in building trust and emotional security with each child. By working in close partnership with families, we build a strong sense of community and collaboration that supports the individual needs of every child.

We provide a safe and nurturing environment where children feel empowered to explore, grow, and develop at their own pace, rich in opportunities for children to engage with the world around them and promote a strong connection to nature.

Our programs are designed to be flexible and inclusive, and to ensure that each child is valued, their voices are heard and incorporated into their learning journey. Our educators are dedicated to fostering a love of learning, by providing guidance and support that helps children develop resilience and self-confidence.

Through their experiences, children will learn to care for themselves, others, the land and gain an understanding of the importance of sustainability. Ultimately, our goal is to inspire children to become capable, responsible, compassionate individuals with a deep respect for the world around them.
