Mount Barker Community Centre is looking for people to join our team of Reception Volunteers to provide excellent customer service and assist in the smooth running of this busy community centre.
Applicants need to:
be confident in assisting clients over the counter and over the phone
assist with cash handling and eftpos payments
manage diverse enquiries
communicate effectively with community centre staff and volunteers
enjoy working as part of a team of people, including those from diverse backgrounds

Duck Flat Community Garden

Volunteer Gardener
Learn about gardening, get involved in a fun and supportive local group of people, spend time in beautiful local garden.
Duck Flat Community Garden is a beautiful space providing a venue for teaching, demonstrating and growing produce utilising cooperative and healthy organic principles.
It boasts abundant garden beds, a hot-shade house, a pizza oven and meeting place, abundant artwork, a native shelterbelt, fruit trees, a comprehensive composting system, activity shed with modern updated kitchen, various artworks, a “playboat” and a children’s garden. It offers a space for the community to tend a garden, contemplate or dream in the shade.
Volunteer gardeners are involved in all aspects of maintaining the garden and new volunteers are always welcome
Gardening hours: Mondays and Wednesdays 9.00am – 1.00pm

The Mount Barker Community Lunch is a free meal for the local community.
Tasks involved with this service will include:
Preparing, cooking and serving lunch
Cleaning dishes and lunchroom.
The community lunch volunteers require some food preparation experience as well as knowledge of occupational health, safety and welfare and hygiene practices and ability to work as a team player.
